Where an appeal is brought by a young person, with parent acting on their behalf, does the local authority's duty to obtain their views apply?
I look forward to an update on this case. We are just setting up a pool of appropriately qualified specialists who can gain the views of the child where this is a concern. We have a particular case where it is not clear that the parental position is aligned with the child's views but they are under 16 and not in a position to represent themselves.
