Satnam Virdi
Owner of LASEN
Principal Solicitor, SV Law
Satnam studied Economics and Law at Cambridge University, where he also served a sabbatical year as elected Deputy President of the Students Union. He qualified in a large City law firm, before moving to Brent Council where he was Head of Litigation.
He established his own firm in 1994, focussing on human rights and local government litigation, particularly education and SEN law. He has recently taken over as Chair of the Education Law Association. He was also a state school governor for many years.
He recently served as an Ombudsman with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

James Dix
Senior Paralegal
James completed his law degree at the University of Oxford. James is a Lord Denning Scholar at Lincoln’s Inn and won the Falcon Chambers Prize for the highest mark in the civil advocacy bar exams. James also volunteers with the Cleaners Union in the Employment Tribunal.

Benjamin Deery
Paralegal
Benjamin has a BA (Hons) in English from the University of Cambridge. GDL from the University of Law. He was a Queen Mother Scholar at Middle Temple. Benjamin is also the recipient of a Diplock GDL scholarship and a Harmsworth Entrance Exhibition from Middle Temple, and a Law First Scholarship from the University of Law. Benjamin has worked in public sector organisations such as the General Optical Council and the Charity Commission, as well as for the trade association TechUK. He volunteers as a representative for the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union, and has worked as an SEN assistant in South West London. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Benjamin was a professional theatre, television and film actor for nearly two decades.

Johanna Williams
Office Manager, SV Law
Johanna has a degree in modern languages from Cambridge University and completed her GDL at City University. Johanna qualified as a solicitor and worked as a corporate lawyer at global law firm Eversheds. Johanna also has a diploma in International Business.
In addition to her legal career, Johanna worked in marketing for clients such as IBM, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard and others.
She has volunteered in an international school. Johanna is fluent in French and German and has experience providing one-to-one tuition in French, German and English to primary and secondary school students.

Geordie Cheetham
Paralegal
Geordie has a BA in History and French and MPhil in Comparative Literature from the University of Cambridge. He also holds a Winifred Georgina Holgate Pollard Memorial Prize for highest mark in History and Modern Languages tripos. Geordie has previously worked as an Operations Advisor at an international security-themed summer school, and has experience tutoring primary school-aged children. He is fluent in French.

Nicholas Martin
Paralegal
Nicholas has a first-class law degree specialising in human rights from the University of Middlesex. He completed successful internships in two London-based organisations working in turn on accountability for crimes against humanity in Myanmar, and child welfare in the UK. Nicholas is also completing his LLM at Middlesex University, to further his understanding of International Human Rights.

Martha Glynn
Senior Paralegal
Martha has completed her law conversion GDL with a Distinction after a History degree from Cambridge University. Volunteers at a Trade Union and has experience of working in a school environment. Taking Bar Exams.

Eda Gulsen
Paralegal
Eda has a degree in International Relations and Politics from the University of Sheffield. She also completed her GDL there. She also has a master’s degree in Public International Law from Leiden University. Eda has previously worked in the charity/NGO sector, on human rights specific matters. Eda also has experience working on group claims in a claimant law firm.

Heather Burrows
Paralegal
Heather has a first-class BA in English from the University of Cambridge and an LLM from BPP University. She was a College scholar in English at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge. She has also completed two mini-pupillages in Criminal Law. Previously, she has also worked as a full-time researcher for a documentary company. Heather ran various workshops on behalf of Effective Altruism Cambridge for school children during the Summer holidays, and worked as a mentor for other Cambridge students via the organisation.

Aditya Dabral
Paralegal
Aditya has a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, GDL from the University of Law and Bar Course from the Inns of Court College of Advocacy. He has previously worked as a Case Work Manager at the Home Office, with his team making immigration and asylum decisions on behalf of the Home Secretary. He also has experience working as an independent admissions appeals panelist on behalf of the London Borough of Lambeth.
